Lena Mekdad, M.S. Licensed Professional Counselor -Intern
In making my clients comfortable and safe within the counseling environment, I strive to help facilitate personal growth. I see counseling as a collaborative and supportive relationship, where self-discovery, healing, and coping, are goals. I use a range of therapeutic styles, tailored to each specific client. I believe that in order to be fully nurtured and content, individuals must address all mental, physical, and spiritual aspects of their own personal lives. I strive to advocate for my clients and to have a voice in breaking through the stigma of mental health.
Michele Saia, Licensed Professional Counselor -Intern
I offer individual counseling for adults (18 and over) with a special interest in serving older adults who are going through difficult transitions. Within a caring and collaborative therapeutic relationship, my counseling is tailored to the needs of each client. I address a range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, codependency, and past trauma. Drawing from a variety of treatment modalities, I employ concepts and techniques from acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness-based therapy, cognitive-behavioral approaches, trauma-informed therapy, and faith-based counseling.
It is my belief that past experiences are often linked to current patterns of thinking and behavior. Creating awareness through therapy gives us the ability to change unhealthy patterns and learn to tolerate distress as we pursue a meaningful life.
