Lena Mekdad, M.S. Licensed Professional Counselor
In making my clients comfortable and safe within the counseling environment, I strive to help facilitate personal growth. I see counseling as a collaborative and supportive relationship, where self-discovery, healing, and coping, are goals. I use a range of therapeutic styles, tailored to each specific client. I believe that in order to be fully nurtured and content, individuals must address all mental, physical, and spiritual aspects of their own personal lives. I strive to advocate for my clients and to have a voice in breaking through the stigma of mental health.
Lacey Knight Master of Counseling candidate, Field Practicum Student
As an avid believer in the power of self-creation and human growth, I have come into the counseling field to continue to learn, while having the opportunity to support and witness the resilient and courageous qualities in each person with whom I create a therapeutic alliance. In this season of my educational and professional journey, I want to fully show up for my clients and grow along with them while providing a safe place that is welcoming to all individuals. I am confident that alongside Shannon Higgins, I will have the opportunity to try new techniques and modalities in the counseling setting thereby expanding my knowledge and experience, and ultimately, gaining the tools needed to meet each client exactly where they are in their process. Personally, I enjoy nature, music, and being at home with my family, dogs and houseplants included. I am eager to participate in practicum while having the support and supervision to form a solid foundation to build upon. We are always growing – all of us.
